Im back!!
Literally and physically...
My hostel internet connection sucks. One, its is mighty slow (for claims of it being part of the best technological institutions in the country), two, blogsot doesn't open here. Out of sheer boredom i decided to blog from the computer center!.So literally, I'm back...and physically after a long 10 day vacation at home and in Ooty.Boy! was that awesome!
Updates from my last post. Nothing much has really happened since Desember exceptthat i finished a year of my pseudo MBA (all along realising it was only a hype), almost done with my internship with Maruti (people have been wondering if Maruti has turned me into a mechanic. To them, NO! I still do sophisticated work with Maruti though i cannot divulge the nature of my work here. :D!)and mighty bored.
So life's going on and on and on..when suddenly i get a one week vacation in between my internship and i fly home with 24 hrs notice. He he..good fun that was. But it was kinda an anti-climax. I was looking foward to going home to nice home made amma food, but it was my parent's wedding anniversary just a couplea days before my arrival there and their 25th one too. So it was party time! For three whole days!! And as usual I was the chauffer! ( have i cribbed abt that before??) Not only family but my aunts and uncles as well! :(( Doesn't help that we stay in the outskirts of town, back of the beyond more like it. And also that i hate driving.
My Ooty trip.
Mom decided that it was about time we went on a vacation. and her guest house in Ooty was vacant at that pointin time. So after an impromptu decision over one day, hurried train bookings and rebookings and cancellations, my mom, bro, cousin sis and I landed in Coimbatore. The trip from Coimbatore to Ooty was to be made by bus and the six wheeled transport service was not very kind to us. Dropped us off at Ooty in three and half hrs of impatience. Rains slashed OOty left right and center when we landed. It was the most beautiful sight ever and the worst possible time to be in Ooty!
Amma's guest house was the most awesome thing in a long time (apart from the fact that i got to go home!) Four days of stay at 25 bucks a day in a deluxe suite furnished with TV! I was definitely not complaining!!! Biting cold and rains, boating in the Ooty lake, a two hour drive to see a water fall which had water that seemed like it was trickling down from a water bottle, doddapetta mountain peak where the winds almost blew me away....I'm not going to bore people but Ooty is a must see for the one who want to take few days off, let loose and relax...My only qualm, I didn't get to sleep through the mornings to wake up to a lazy breakfast and a day filled with nothingness.....*sigh *
Ooty was a nice experience that i cannot capture in words. One has to be there to experience it ( :D this is just to mask my inability to word it properly )
I picked up Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts in the station. The author's usage of words to describe the simplest of situations is mind boggling. Im on my way through it, the reading made easy by the author's ability to capture and hold the readers attention with the choisiest of wit and subtility of humour. Most situations described are common place happenings but the truth of it hits u only when you manage to read it in print and ponder about it...review once im done with it.
Currently in the mood for : Country Roads take me home!!
