Friday news...
A very very good friend of mine lost his mom. Nullifies all the fun I had during the weekend with trips to Bangalore to meet Akshay and Trichy to meet Asha.
Amazing how strong people can be. Heard about it when i was in the bus returning from Trichy. So wanted to stop and call and hear his voice, atleast hear him cry. Miserable one day it was, till i could catch him finally half hour before i posted this. He's amaaaaazingly strong for all this. In turn consoling me when i couldn't help but break down. So wanted to meet his mom. Proud of him. Hate the fact that i cannot take off to be with him now. Work at home ties me up. May her soul rest in peace.
Took off to Bangalore on Friday. Asked our amazing Srinidhi to book tickets which was the first thing we did wrong. Fortunately for her she did manage to get tickets for the Christmas weekend just two days before we were scheduled to leave.( would have killed her if she cudn't)
Bus at 9.15. No sign of her till 8.30, for all that she asked us to be at the bus stand by 8.30 to book our return tickets. Clock ticks.
8.45....
8.55....
No sign of her....
Smrithi's dad freaking out...
9.00.....
No sign of her yet...
Call her and she's stuck some 10 mins away in traffic...
9.05....
Call her again...She's still stuck at the same place in the same traffic...
Smrithi's dad offers to buy us milk before taking us home....
9.10...
we rushed to stop the bus which was parked at the cornermost platform....
Had to hear it from the conductor ....
9.15....
No sign yet of our highness...
Exasperated, Smrithi's dad offers to drop me home...
Our lady lands finally at 9.20....One helluva story she had to tell though! (Kept claiming it was true...Still dont believe her)
Claimed that in her rush she gave the auto driver a Rs.500 note and got back change for the Rs 40 she had negotited and then ran after the auto driver to get back the rest of the money... ha ha ha only...
Settled in in the bus for a 6 hr trip. And i was so glad i sat away from Sri...She has an uncanny ability to not sleep and not let anyone else beside her sleep....
Yawn! Thats precisely what i did.....
